Life Under Construction

Health and fitness have become more important in our daily lives. Women work longer hours, and take a more active role in securing their financial future. I think woman are exploding into every interest and talent they have, and that’s a good thing. Men have worked harder to help out on the home front and this is in addition to their regular work day. We have to start taking care of ourselves first ! If you are tired and run down, you will be no good to your significant other while they are juggling 10 balls and are balancing two kids on the hip.

It’s time to slow our pace down a bit, what good will all of our efforts do us, if we are suffering the effects of our lifestyle choices of, go here, and do that ,and grab a burger or salad ,and jet out the door to our 16 hour work day. If we add divorce to this tiny mix we already have, watch out, because someone is going to fall and fall hard. Your life is changing and for some it is slow and for others its in less than a blink of an eye. You need all the support and positive life on your side and let’s face it, you cannot give your best and be strong if you are tired and weak from emotion overload. Dont wait until you have a health reason staring you in the face , to finally start that workout that you keep saying you are going to do. If we initiate working on our health and fitness first, we are more likely to maintain it and handle the tough and painful stuff with some level of ease.

I can hear the groans from you, working out, I don’t have time or I’m tired or my personal favorite, (yes , I have used it) it’s raining out, I’m not going to work out. It doesn’t take us long to convince ourself of getting out of fitness because we stubbed our toe. We are highly skilled at convincing ourself to do something when it suits us. Health and fitness are a tiny piece of the pie. We need to take care of ourself emotionally and mentally, and spiritually in addition to what we eat and how we exercise. Our mind plays a significant roll in who we are and how we live our life. I’m sure that last sentence is raising a few eye brows. Lets get down to business now, the real deal, the meat and potatoes or the veggies and tofu of where your life is at this moment.

Maybe you are thinking about getting a divorce and your looking at a glimps of what your new future, your new life will be like. You’re in the midst of the 8 th battle of the Smiths civil war ,and at this moment, if the wicked witch of the east were to fly by, you would become Michael Jordan and jump right onto the back of the broom stick. The last option is, you have completed your divorce and are now on your own, and most likely, you haven’t a clue what to do or you believe that you are going to sail smoothly off into the sunset.

You have this though but once in a while you get “mind fluff” where your brain fools you into believing that this is all a piece of cake, and you can take care of it. Maybe so ,but you increase you chances of crossing the water successfully if your taking care of you, making yourself healthier and stronger on all levels.

What if I told you that working out wasn’t enough to keep you healthy, and that in order to be healthy and physically fit , we need to add other things into our daily routine ,meditation ,and spirit growth, and we need balance within ourself. What about our eating habits ? I’ve been there as I’m sure others have too. Unfamiliar foods, “health food” and tasteless food and you think ,I don’t want to starve the rest of my life. From everything that we put into our mouth to the company that we keep , it all plays a roll in our health and fitness, and ultimately our happiness ,and our health and fitness.

Change is one thought at a time- Live a healthy and fit life
